Sunday was a pretty quiet day. We had the normal grocery shopping day and that went well. Later in the day, we spent time watching some TV and just hanging out. It was a pretty boring day actually. In the evening Hubs had his first hockey game since they've opened up the rules and they can play again. I enjoyed watching some of my TV shows and got to bed pretty early.
Monday was my second day of holiday and it was a hot one! I managed to sleep in a little but once up I filled the pool and got that ready for the girls as I knew they would be in there at some point. We also gathered up all our stuff and took it to Value Village. We did a little bit of shopping while we were there and I got a dress and a couple of pairs of work pants since it seems like I'll be in the office more than I planned now that I've switched jobs. Once we got home we had a quick lunch and then the girls did hit the pool up. I watched some TV while they splashed and then in the late afternoon I had a going-away chat with the person I'm replacing. The evening was spent hanging out with Hubs while he watched his team lose the first game of the finals. We then finished off the last of a TV show and were off to bed.
Tuesday was another hot day! I actually spent some time in the pool and that is not something I do because the water is never warm enough for me. Though the first time I was in there the kids kicked me out so they could play and the second time I got out on my own because the kids were splashing. We also went to get a gift card for one of the guys' Hubs plays hockey with as he's getting married in a week and the team bought him that for a gift. Beyond that, we just hung out at home and watched some TV and the kids managed to not get on each other's nerves for once. In the afternoon there was another going away party for the man I'm replacing with a quiz and everything so that was fun. After supper was some time with Hubs and the DVR and then off to bed.
Wednesday was the day we had a few things to do. In the morning the girls had an optometrist appointment. As expected both of them needed glasses and so we picked out the pairs for them and they should be ready next week. They are very excited and happy but I expect that to last only a little while. We grabbed some Slurpees and sushi on the way home and had a nice lunch. Then shortly after we arrived back our CSA showed up. As expected there as well we got lots of salad fixings for so early in the season. We had a salad with our supper last night and that was good. I didn't get in the pool as the water was much too cold for me but the girls played in there off and on for the afternoon. In the evening I had a chat in person with my boss as we exchanged some items. Then it was on to Loki. I've decided that a group of Loki's is called a mischief so if you hear someone saying that, let it be known I coined it first! :)
Thursday was the hottest day of the week so far as well as being Canada Day. There weren't any celebrations for us to go to as there are still Covid restrictions as well as all the Residential School findings that have made it not a very celebrated day this year. I was very bored and decided that we should go to Costco, only to find out that they were closed. We hit up Walmart instead and I didn't get any satisfaction from it but I did get new pillows for the bed, which were sorely needed. We all spent a little time in the pool and I have some slightly pink skin to show for it. In the evening I went for my bath and watched a few shows on the streaming services then it was off to bed to test the new pillows out!
Friday was the hottest day of the week at 41 degrees. It was also the only day of the week that I had to work. The kids kept themselves busy indoors most of the day but did get some pool time in the late afternoon. Work was very slow as I think 95% of the company took yesterday off. I had one phone call and no meetings and managed to get my emails down to a reasonable number to start my new job on Monday. I have also cleaned out my calendar from all the meetings I no longer need to attend and since I' didn't receive any forwards from the outgoing person, it looks like I will have all sorts of time to actually work......hahahahahaha.......not likely. Bear painted my toes and fingers for me so I have a lovely shade of pink on both that is very summery and I like it. Hubs was disappointed yet again by his hockey team and I'm just glad that it looks like there will only be one more game this season so we can stop watching it. We did manage to watch one episode of a DVR'd show last night so at least a tiny reduction in the amount recorded. There was a massive thunderstorm overnight that woke me up and shook the house with its booms so that was lovely to cool things down but I think it's also going to make things muggy tomorrow!
