New Pains

As I was laying in bed last night the outside of my right leg started to tingle.  I didn't really think anything of it but when I woke up at about 2:30am it felt hot and tight so I touched it.  It created a burning pain that almost caused me to cry out.  After walking a bit and touching it some more the pain past and I want back to bed.  At 6am the same thing happened.  This time I called the Healthline and spoke with a nurse.  She advised me to see a doctor soon as there was a slim chance it was a blood clot but that I didn't need to go to emergency or anything.  After getting everyone up and dressed and fed I took myself to the medi clinic.  I took a book because you never know but was seen in about twenty minutes.  They have diagnosed that it's a type of nerve pain and while it normally causes numbness instead of the pain I got, it's harmless and should fade soon.  If I get other symptoms or it's still hanging around after two weeks I'm to see my family doctor.

Bug won her game last night.  It was good to have Grandma and Uncle there and she managed to get a goal as well.  Bear is now waiting for Sunday so she can show off her skills to them then.

We are forecast thunderstorms and rain for the rest of the week.  Honestly we need it and I hope it materializes.

Bear is having a sprinkler day at school today.  She was very excited this morning and picked out the perfect bathing suit to romp around in.

A Rough Night

It was not a great evening last night.  It started off okay as I managed to sneak out of work fifteen minutes early and make it home with enough time to feed the children.  That's about where the good stopped.  No one had their soccer stuff organized and I had to run around everywhere to find all the bits.  Then we made it to soccer and halfway through bear had to use the washroom.  Normally the school is open near where they play but not yesterday.  So we drove to the closest convenience store, no public washrooms there.  We then drove to a nearby gas station and thankfully they had a toilet.  We then had to go to Bug's soccer practice and that was okay.  Got home, got everyone in bed and then Hubs decided to start a fight that lasted for an hour and a half.  I'm just done with it,.  I don't even care anymore.  Once I made it to bed Bug had a nightmare so climbed in with me and twice Bear was up because she couldn't sleep.  Add to that the stupid mask and it was a bad night.  I'm tired today and still mad and don't want to have to actually adult at all.

We have Bug's soccer game tonight, have to remember the bug spray as last week it got a little bad near the end.

Also happening to day is my brother coming into town.  He's here for Bug's Communion but is taking a week to just hang out.  As I haven't seen him since Xmas it'll be nice to have him around.  The girls are quite excited too.  They have also found out that they will be going there for almost two weeks in July to stay and can't wait.

I'm Still Tired

After a weekend of not doing much it's back to work today.

Saturday was a very lazy day of going to the library and that was all.  Bear and I did plant some more things into the garden but since most of my seeds are old i have very little faith that we are going to get much of a harvest.  We added some cucumber and cantaloupe.  I don't even know if cantaloupe grows here.  Thankfully we had a nice rain shower overnight so things got a good soaking and now we hope for the best.

Sunday I stayed in bed reading for most of the morning.  After a thrilling lunch of macaroni and cheese Bear and I went to the grocery store and did our weekly shop.  We then hit up a few dollar stores as my mom needed a cable for her TV.  Bear was very excited to purchase her own item at the grocery.  She really wanted to help me pay for everything but it was simply an easier task to let her pick out one thing that she wanted and then have her hand over her money.  In the evening Hubs had hockey and I binged Double Shot at Love.  That is some good trash TV.  I've also just begun watching Lucifer on Netflix so that should keep me busy for a good month as I only watch one episode a day and there are four seasons to get through.

I'm still not getting a restful sleep with my machine.  It keeps me up and wakes me up as it blows on my eyes if the mask slips.  I'm hoping things will eventually settle down because I'm feeling just as bad as I was before only now I guess there is no snoring to listen to.

It's Been A Week

I'm so very glad it's Friday.  This week has felt very long and I'm happy to see the back of it.

Yesterday I was out and about with the girls on a field trip.  We went with the school to a local park.  It's nice that we had the place booked for ourselves as it allowed the kids to not have to fight hoards of other kids for the attractions.  There is a Ferris wheel, a carousel and and train that goes round the park.  Once we were done our time on those we had a picnic lunch and then the kids were set loose on the playground and spray park.  By this time I realized that we were not the only group there.  There must have been 300-400 children and minders there.  It was absolutely crazy and there were many moments where I had no clue where the children were.  Thankfully I had the snacks and water bottles so they returned at regular intervals to fuel up.  The weather was great as well.  It was hot but slightly overcast so no raging sunburn for me.  The kids were properly slathered in sunscreen.

I got my very own CPAP machine yesterday as well.  The loaner was returned and the statistics checked.  After using the machine for a week it was determined that my apneas were reduced to 0.3 an hour and I was suffering less time awake then before.  The new machine is set at a rate of 11 and I have to send in my chip in a month to see if everything is good going forward.  It was suggested that I go for another mask type as my mouth is staying closed and maybe it would afford me better success on side sleeping.

Last night we also had rehearsal for Bug's First Communion.  Thankfully Father kept it brief as everyone just wanted to get home and watch the Raptor's game.  There was lots of information but only a few things that Bug herself has to remember and she is feeling good about those.  We actually get the Bishop performing the service so it should be memorable.

Not much else is going on today.  I think I'll switch my bath to tonight since I didn't get one last night.  I also managed to finish a book yesterday so happy about that.

It's Wednesday

Another rainy morning today.  I managed to get between the rains on my walk to work but I had the umbrella handy just in case.  It's quite dark and grey out today and if the forecast can be believed, this is the rest of our week.  I'm hoping for a nicer day tomorrow though as the kids and I are off on a field trip and they are supposed to play in the spray park.  The whole trip will be pretty sad if it gets rained on though.

Bug had a great soccer game last night.  We had about 4 drops of rain and beyond that it was beautiful.  The bugs are beginning to appear though so we need to remember bug spray to sit in these parks.  Bear likes the park we've been at lately because there is a playground nearby that she can hang out at and not be bored watching her sister play for an hour.

I'm still very tired from the CPAP machine.  I go in tomorrow for the followup appointment and we'll see what they say about the usage.  I managed to get some sleep on my side last night so that's at least a bonus.  I'm going to need a large amount of naps to make this up and I have no days off booked to make that happen.

Rest of the day should just be a normal day here.  No activities tonight and work doesn't look too awful so I think it'll all be okay.

Have a good one!

Another Fight

Once again this morning there was a fight between Hubs and myself.  This is a fairly common occurrence brought on by his lack of pain tolerance and my lack of patience with his lack of pain tolerance.  I feel that he needs to begin to accept that he may have chronic pain for the rest of his life and not have to express it and moan out loud and be miserable every morning.  He thinks he's handling it well and needs to complain about it on a daily basis.  The end result is he is grumpy and I get annoyed he's grumpy and then we snap at each other.  Today it was because he felt I should have done more to straighten the house up before the window guys came.  However he also was home last night and just sat on the couch watching the Raptors so this can't be all my fault.  I also think the people coming are not going to care if things are not perfectly cleaned up.  They are there to measure windows, not pass judgement on the house.

I'm very over the sleep mask for the CPAP machine.  I can't get a restful night with that thing on my face.  If I lay on my back the whole time, my back hurts and I'm uncomfortable.  I also wake up with a stiff neck.  If I try to lay on my side the mask moves and it leaks air out.  So that is bad.  I can't lay on my stomach at all, and that is my preferred method of sleeping.  I think I'm getting less sleep than I was before.  I hate all of it.  I did go back to the store to see if there was another mask type that would work better for me but they said that this was going to be the best option and that some leakage is okay.  It may seem like a lot but it may be less than I think it is.

Soccer again tonight.  Both girls were out last night and we braved the rain that happened.  It did stop in time for Bug's practice but it was cool and a little windy.  There is a chance of more rain today and maybe her game will get cancelled.  I could use some time at home to relax.

Well I'd best get to work, have a good day.

Morning Rain

Woke up to the lovely sound of rain this morning.  I'm not sure how long it had been happening but it had stopped by the time I was ready to go to work.  I kept my umbrella handy just in case though as arriving to work sopping wet is not the best way to start the day.

Both girls are excited for today.  It's the Primary Play Day at school and it kicks off with a hot dog lunch before a wide variety of games are set to be played in the park.  Bear has no school today but she and Grandma are going to go and have some fun.

It's the last day of the final round of testing of our new system here at work.  We are finishing off with a pizza lunch.  I think the week has gone well and lots of little things were found to ask questions on and make slight fixes to.  I thankfully did not have to spend a lot of my time actually in the lab.  I'd have lost my mind for sure then.

We got a call back from our window installers last night.  The issues we are having are covered by warranty and they will be replacing all the defective windows.  This is very exciting as they are only a few years old and we were quite disappointed to have them fogging up between the panes.

Hubs also got a call yesterday to go for a job interview.  It's with the City so if he can get on that would be nice.  There are good benefits and there is lots of chances to move around within the jobs there so he shouldn't get too bored with any one thing.

Hope you all are having a lovely day.

A Great Time

Last night we had a Team Building event for my work.  We went to a place that offers escape rooms, bocci ball, and axe throwing.  There was good food in the form of pulled pork and roasted potatoes, salads, and cake for dessert.  If you wanted an adult beverage, those were on you to purchase yourself but pop was included.  We were randomly divided into six teams and sent off into our rooms to try and get out before time ran out.  My team managed to make it with about a minute forty left on the clock.  It turned out that we were the only team to make an escape so we got the prize for fasted escape, which was a $10 gift card for each of us.  We then got to try our hand at the axe throwing.  That was really fun and I was able to be successful at both overhand throwing of large and small axes.  I just couldn't get the right motion for underhand.

I also had to pick up my sleep apnea machine yesterday.  I'm still on a learning machine so it automatically adjusts to various settings throughout the night.  After a week of this I will get my own machine and it will have just one setting that is customized for my needs.  Last night did not go well as I had to sleep in my back and I found the noise of the breathing to be very loud.  I normally sleep with my good ear down so I can't hear things and that is not possible with this apparatus.  I'm hoping it was just the getting use to it that was causing the issues because if not, this is not going to be a sustainable venture.

It's supposed to rain here today which will be nice.  I'll get a break from watering the flowers and garden.  I remembered my umbrella for work so I can make it back to the car nice and dry if it happens to be coming  down at the end of the day.

After supper Bug and I will have to head out and grab a present for a birthday party she has this weekend.  They only sent out the notifications on Tuesday and the party is Saturday.  Not much time to get ourselves together.

Well I suppose I should stop this and actually do some work today.  Enjoy the day where ever you are.

It's Warm Here

We had a lovely evening yesterday.  Both girls had soccer and I stopped for a Slurpee beforehand so I got to enjoy the sunshine for an hour and sip away while watching Bug run back and forth.  She has a game tonight so we will be out again, even though it is not quite as warm as it was yesterday.

Things are not settling down here at work. We keep finding new things to give me stress.  No matter how hard I try to not take on all of the things, I still feel responsible and so it's getting me more worked up then maybe it needs to.  It's not my fault this project has become my baby. :)

My knee is feeling better though.  I was grateful for the lessening of pain for sure yesterday as the elevators were out at work and I had to climb down three flights of stairs.  It was a little slow going but I made it out.

Today so far has been about putting out fires and making sure the testers we have in for the project are getting the answers they need.  If that's how it stays then things should be golden.

Have a good day.

Back At It

Well it's back to being Monday and things are in their normal routine.

We had a good weekend with not too much going on.  Saturday the girls and I went to the library, Value VILLAGE, out for lunch, and then hit up some garage sales on the way home.  THERE was a big sale at the church and we hit the timing right so that you could by a bag for $5 and whatever you could fit in it was yours.  WE bought mostly books but the girls also found some clothes and a couple of stuffies.

Sunday was a stay home kinda day.  I Went out and got groceries and then we planted some carrots in the little garden patch.  The kids played in the sprinkler for a few hours and then proceeded to drive each other crazy for the rest of the day.

Today at work is the first day where we are going to have a few people in from outside to do testing.  It Should be an experience and hopefully they like the program we have spent the last two years developing.

WELL it's almost lunch time so I guess I should see what the cafeteria is serving up.

Have a good day!
