Hello All, I've decided to try something new with my blog posts as I can never seem to find the things I want to talk about so I'm going to do just one post a week and add to it every day with whatever happened the day before or interesting things that have happened by the time I write the post. We'll see how long this lasts but I really do want to try to be more consistent and if this is a starting point then great!
Sunday was Easter Sunday and since I try my hardest not to ever shop on a holiday there was no grocery-getting. I have spent too long in Retail to ever put a foot inside a store on a day where I think they should be closed. I realize that my single-person protest is not going to get anything changed but it's my little way of being in solidarity with those workers who have no choice but to be there. We had a ham and a few other regular things for supper and it was actually very tasty. I'm not a huge ham lover, really I've come to the conclusion I only like meat a few times a week and mostly from a chicken. The girls got some Easter baskets full of things and seemed to be quite happy with them. There was more than just chocolate in there and that went over well. They have been spending hours outside for the last few days playing with the neighbour kids and since they are in the same classes at school it seems like it should be okay. They are wearing masks and as I said, being outside so I'm feeling fine with it. Hubs and I watched some TV to round out the night and that was Easter for us.
Monday I got groceries. Bug also had a birthday party for one of her best friends so we dropped her off at that late afternoon. Not too much else exciting happened really. I tried desperately to nap and that didn't work out at all. Bear wasn't feeling all that good in the evening and so needed some extra snuggles and cuddles at bedtime. I was quite irritated with Hubs so the evening wasn't all that good. We did manage to watch one show that we have recorded so maybe cleared 1% of the DVR. Must work hard on that this week while I'm off. I've very behind in all the shows and that's not good. I also had one of my brain shifts on Monday. We still don't know if they are a COVID response or what but that's what I'm going with since I never had them before I was positive all those months ago and they haven't gone away since. They are slightly less intense than they started off but still bring me to a complete halt in whatever I'm doing.
Tuesday was a pretty boring day. The girls played outside for a while, which gave me the chance to clean the bathroom. Then we went off to the dollar store to grab a few things and stopped to get some lunch on the way home. We spent the rest of the afternoon just hanging out and I watched some TV. I'm hoping to get the PVR down some more so went hard on things that seemed to be taking up lots of space. I did manage to get it down to only 86% full so that was a good start. Nothing much else happened. I did write a letter to a penpal so sometime this week I will need to mail that off. I also started a beading craft that will turn into a Christmas banner once it's completed. It's going well but I need to have plenty of space to work on it so it's a clean table kind of craft, not a watch TV kind.
Wednesday started off with my cleaning out the freezer on the top of the fridge and doing an inventory. Oddly there was only one thing to throw out so that was good. We then took a bunch of boxes to Value Village and did some shopping there. We got a few games to play and a few clothes for me and Bear. Once we got home the girls played for a while and I watched more of the DVR's programs I have. Then once Hubs came home we all played one of the games we got. Which embarrassingly Hubs and I lost even though the game is a trivia game for grades 1-6. Later in the evening while Hubs was watching hockey the girls and I played again and I managed to win. It was a beautiful day out and I had the windows open letting in the fresh air for the first time this year.
Thursday we stayed home all day. The girls and I baked two loaves of bread from scratch. Bug wasn't really too into it until the kneading part but then she wanted in. They are good and while it won't happen all that often, it's nice as a treat. Later in the evening, we pulled Bear's tooth out. It's been wiggly for a while and the one growing in had come up behind so it needed to come out. We tried the floss and the doorknob trick but the floss wouldn't stay on her tooth so I just grabbed it with a kleenex and pulled it out. A small amount of drama from that but it really wasn't held in there very hard. I managed to read a couple of compilation books about Christmas, which is nice. They are recipes and crafts and stories so it's an easy way to pass some time and get some ideas as well. It was also my bath night. I am low on bath products but found some older things that need to be used up, they didn't smell too strong but at least it was something besides plain water.
Friday we learned the news that Price Phillip had passed. That's very sad and I feel for the Queen. The girls and I went to one of the malls here and played a round of mini golf. We then did a little bit of shopping and grabbed lunch while we were there. The rest of the day was spent at home doing very little. I'm still working to get that DVR down and I'm happier where it is now but with having to have nights where we watch the hockey game instead of a show it never really gets down to far.
Saturday I was up early for no reason at all besides a bad dream where a giant blue bug was sitting on my foot and it hurt. It was not an okay thing to go through. I went to the library to do some exchanging of books and then grabbed Hubs a coffee on the way home. Saturday is also laundry day so we got that don as well. Later in the evening we started watching Falcon and Winter Soldier as that is the next thing on our Marvel Saturday watching. We finished WandaVision last week and I wasn't thrilled with the ending at all. I realise they need to leave it open ended to further the brand but there was too much that wasn't explained or wrapped up in a good way.
Hope you've all had a good week!
