Maybe this Week

Well I failed miserably to get through a week of posting, even though I was home and not working.  Now it's Tuesday and I'm back at work so we'll see how this week goes, though I have low hopes :)

On Monday I was back at the school for another field trip.  It was with Bear's class this time, though it was to the same place, the Forestry Farm.  However, it was switched up a bit as we hit the playground first, had lunch after playing for an hour and then went to see the animals.  It was also different this time in that one of the other Mom's on the trip works at the zoo so she knows all the animals names and all sorts of facts about them and they know her voice so we saw many more than we'd have just walking around ourselves as they came to her or at least looked out of the dens to see her.  I was glad we started walking around though as sitting in the sun watching the kids play on the park had me ready for a nap, so warm in the sun.  After that and the bus ride back to school, it was just home and I had that nap till it was time to make supper.  The evening was spent watching TV, having a shower, and taking myself to bed fairly early with no reading or anything, just laying down and being asleep in minutes.  All that sun and walking wore me right out.

Tuesday was back to work, for the shortest week I've had in a while.  The morning went quickly as I tried to find my way out of all the emails that accumulated while I was off.  I then had a physio appointment to help with my tennis elbow.  It's been getting better since the last time but I also have been more conscious of it and not using it as much to lift or grip.  On the way home I stopped at Tim's and ended up in a Pay it Forward line so that was nice, by purchasing the guy behind's order it was cheaper than mine but I'd have paid it even if it was more.  It's a nice thing to do and I rarely find myself in one and of course never think to start one.  A big block of meetings followed that, plus more of the emails, and then I got lucky and was able to score two tickets to Weird Al from one of our suppliers.  I'm so excited, I was going to go alone but they said I could bring a plus one so Hubs gets to come too!  That was really the only excitement of the day.  In the evening we didn't do much, watched some Jersey Shore, because we are classy like that, and then I read a bit and went to bed.

Wednesday was the last day of school for the girls.  They really had no plans to do anything at school and most of their things were brought home yesterday so it was an easy day planned.  I went and got them a bagel from Tim's for breakfast and then off they went.  I had to work all day and it went by fairly quickly, minus the last hour.  Once I'd run to pick up the girls and cheer for the grad 8's that were graduating, I just couldn't get back into the spirit of working and really struggled to keep at it.  We then went out for supper to celebrate the last day of school and enjoyed that.  Evening was letting the kids run wild for a few hours before bed and then watching a little bit of TV with Hubs.  I had a shower and then tried to read but was exhausted and just crashed.  I had banned the children from my room last night and managed to have a great sleep, though of course I could easily crawl back into bed at any time.

Friday was the holiday here in Canada and it was a good day.  We only have Bear at home as Bug went camping with a friend for the weekend so we made it as exciting as we could.  Hubs and Bear went for a walk down by the river and on the campus, which is apparently overrun with gophers.  They then went to Value Village for a quick mosey around.  Once they got home I loaded all the stuff to take to VV and we went back to the one on the other side of the city. We bought almost nothing, just a couple of bunny hugs for Bear and then we hit up the grocery store for lunch fixings and came back home.  We then spent some time in the pool and I had a nap in the sun so I'm a little redder than I should be.  Not too much else happened during the day but it was a good day and some nice time with Bear.  Fireworks were set off by the neighbours later and they were quite impressive so Marshmallow and I watched those for a little bit before bed.
